Caramel Apple Puff Pastry

Ingredients You’ll Need
For the Apple Filling:
3 medium apples , peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice (to prevent browning)
For the Pastry:
1 sheet puff pastry , thawed (store-bought or homemade)
1 egg , beaten (for egg wash)
For the Topping:
1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Optional Garnish : Chopped pecans, sea salt flakes, or powdered sugar
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) . Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth any creases.
Step 2: Make the Apple Filling
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples soften slightly and the mixture becomes fragrant and syrupy. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
