broccoli chicken cheese casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 4 cups broccoli florets (steamed or blanched)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for greasing)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with olive oil or butter.
  2. Prepare the Broccoli: Steam or blanch the broccoli florets until they are tender, about 3-4 minutes. Drain any excess water and set them aside.
  3. Prepare the Chicken: If not already cooked, cook the chicken until fully done, then shred or dice it into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Mix the Casserole Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, steamed broccoli, sour cream, mayonnaise, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well coated.
  5. Assemble the Casserole: Transfer the chicken and broccoli mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  6. Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top of the casserole. If you like, sprinkle some Parmesan cheese over it for extra flavor.
  7. Bake: Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
