Air Fryer Sloppy Joe Biscuit Bombs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef, 85/15 preferred
  • 1 can sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 can of refrigerator Grand biscuits
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  1. Cut parchment paper to fit the basket of your air fryer. Set aside.
  2. Place a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it into small pieces until it is no longer pink. Drain and return the meat to the skillet.
  3. Add the can of sloppy joe sauce and heat over medium until the sauce thickens (about 5 minutes). Remove the skillet from the heat and set aside.
  4. Remove the biscuits from the package and separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Press each biscuit half into a 4-inch round circle. Lightly sprinkle the top of each biscuit half with shredded cheese. Then add 2 tablespoonfuls of the sloppy Joe mixture on top of the cheese in the center of each biscuit.
  5. Gently fold edges up and over filling and pinch to seal at the top.
  6. In small bowl, beat the egg and water. Using a pastry brush, apply the egg wash on all sides of the biscuits. Set aside.
  7. Preheat Air Fryer at 375°F (190°C). Place the parchment paper in the air fryer basket and then place the biscuit bombs, seam side down on the parchment paper.
  8. Cook for 8 minutes. Turn the biscuit bombs and continue to cook for another 8-12 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked through at an internal temperature of 165°F. You may need to flip them one more time to prevent one side from browning too much.
  9. Remove the biscuit bombs from the air fryer and let cool for 5 minutes before serving, as the insides will be HOT!
