Air Fryer Sloppy Joe Biscuit Bombs
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef, 85/15 preferred
- 1 can sloppy joe sauce
- 1 can of refrigerator Grand biscuits
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon water
Instructions
- Cut parchment paper to fit the basket of your air fryer. Set aside.
- Place a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it into small pieces until it is no longer pink. Drain and return the meat to the skillet.
- Add the can of sloppy joe sauce and heat over medium until the sauce thickens (about 5 minutes). Remove the skillet from the heat and set aside.
- Remove the biscuits from the package and separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Press each biscuit half into a 4-inch round circle. Lightly sprinkle the top of each biscuit half with shredded cheese. Then add 2 tablespoonfuls of the sloppy Joe mixture on top of the cheese in the center of each biscuit.
- Gently fold edges up and over filling and pinch to seal at the top.
- In small bowl, beat the egg and water. Using a pastry brush, apply the egg wash on all sides of the biscuits. Set aside.
- Preheat Air Fryer at 375°F (190°C). Place the parchment paper in the air fryer basket and then place the biscuit bombs, seam side down on the parchment paper.
- Cook for 8 minutes. Turn the biscuit bombs and continue to cook for another 8-12 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked through at an internal temperature of 165°F. You may need to flip them one more time to prevent one side from browning too much.
- Remove the biscuit bombs from the air fryer and let cool for 5 minutes before serving, as the insides will be HOT!
