Air Fryer Scotch Eggs

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 1 egg, beaten (for coating)
  • 1 lb (450g) ground sausage or chicken sausage
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
  • 1/4 cup flour (for coating)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions:

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare sausage mix:
    In a bowl, combine ground sausage with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix until well combined.
  3. Wrap eggs:
    Divide the sausage mixture into 4 portions. Flatten each portion into a thin patty. Wrap around each hard-boiled egg completely, sealing all edges.
  4. Coat eggs:
    • Roll each sausage-wrapped egg in flour.
    • Dip into beaten egg.
    • Roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  5. Air fry:
    • Lightly spray each egg with cooking spray.
    • Place in air fryer basket (in a single layer).
    • Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked.
  6. Serve:
    Let cool slightly. Serve warm with mustard, aioli, or dipping sauce of choice.
