Air Fryer Pineapple

Ingredients:

  • 1 fresh pineapple
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (or a sugar substitute like Swerve for a keto-friendly version)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick
  • Optional: honey or maple syrup for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Pineapple:
    • Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple. Stand it upright and carefully slice off the skin. Cut the pineapple into rings or spears, removing the core.
  3. Season the Pineapple:
    • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar (or sugar substitute), ground cinnamon, and cayenne pepper if using. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the pineapple pieces, making sure they are well coated.
  4. Air Fry the Pineapple:
    • Place the pineapple pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
    • Cook for 8-12 minutes, turning halfway through, until the pineapple is golden brown and caramelized.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove the pineapple from the air fryer and let it cool slightly. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired. Serve warm as a side dish, dessert, or topping for yogurt, ice cream, or pancakes.
