Air Fryer Meringues Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 large egg whites, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Prepare Meringue: In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, a tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat the egg whites. Beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy. Add vanilla extract if desired and beat until incorporated.
- Pipe or Spoon Meringue: Transfer the meringue mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, or simply spoon dollops of the meringue onto a parchment-lined air fryer basket. Leave some space between each meringue as they will expand slightly during cooking.
- Air Fry: Place the meringues in the preheated air fryer basket. Cook at 300°F (150°C) for about 25-30 minutes, or until the meringues are dry and crisp on the outside.
- Cool: Once done, turn off the air fryer and let the meringues cool completely in the basket before removing them. They will continue to firm up as they cool.
- Serve: Once cooled, serve the meringues immediately or store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to several days.
