Air Fryer Meringues Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 large egg whites, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Prepare Meringue: In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, a tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat the egg whites. Beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy. Add vanilla extract if desired and beat until incorporated.
  3. Pipe or Spoon Meringue: Transfer the meringue mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, or simply spoon dollops of the meringue onto a parchment-lined air fryer basket. Leave some space between each meringue as they will expand slightly during cooking.
  4. Air Fry: Place the meringues in the preheated air fryer basket. Cook at 300°F (150°C) for about 25-30 minutes, or until the meringues are dry and crisp on the outside.
  5. Cool: Once done, turn off the air fryer and let the meringues cool completely in the basket before removing them. They will continue to firm up as they cool.
  6. Serve: Once cooled, serve the meringues immediately or store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to several days.
