AIR FRYER CHICKEN RISSOLES

Ingredients:

500g ground chicken

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version)

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 garlic clove, minced

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary

1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)

1 egg (beaten)

1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions:

Prepare the mixture:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and paprika.

Add the beaten egg to the mixture and mix everything together until fully combined.

Shape the rissoles:

Wet your hands with a little water or oil to prevent the mixture from sticking. Take a small amount of the mixture and shape it into small, round patties or oval-shaped rissoles.

Preheat the air fryer:

Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes.

Cook the rissoles:

Brush the air fryer basket with a little olive oil. Arrange the chicken rissoles in the basket, ensuring they don’t touch each other for even cooking.

Air fry the rissoles for about 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through. They should be golden brown and cooked through when done.

Serve:

Once cooked, remove the rissoles from the air fryer and serve them with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tzatziki, ketchup, or a side of  vegetables.

Description:
Air fryer chicken rissoles are a crispy and satisfying dish, with tender chicken combined with aromatic herbs and spices. The air fryer gives them the perfect texture with less oil, making them a lighter option for a meal or snack. They are quick and simple to prepare, making them ideal for busy weeknights, meal prepping, or even a party appetizer. You can customize the flavors by adjusting the seasonings or adding ingredients like cheese or chopped vegetables.

Tips:
For extra flavor, add grated Parmesan cheese to the mixture.

If you prefer a spicier kick, try adding chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce.

To ensure your rissoles hold together well, avoid overmixing the chicken mixture. A gentle hand when shaping them will keep them from falling apart.

Use lean ground chicken for a healthier option, but make sure it’s not too dry. If using lean meat, you can add a tablespoon of olive oil to the mixture for extra moisture.
