Air Fryer Baked Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized russet potatoes
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon bits

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt.
    • Pat the potatoes dry with a paper towel.
    • Using a fork, poke several holes around each potato to allow steam to escape during cooking.
  3. Season the Potatoes:
    • Rub each potato with olive oil to coat evenly.
    • Sprinkle salt over the potatoes, ensuring an even coating.
  4. Air Fry the Potatoes:
    • Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other.
    • Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 35-45 minutes, depending on the size of the potatoes. Flip the potatoes halfway through the cooking time for even crisping.
    • To check for doneness, insert a fork or knife into the center of a potato; it should go in easily.
  5. Serve:
    • Carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer (they will be hot!).
    • Slice open the top of each potato and fluff the insides with a fork.
    • Add your favorite toppings and serve hot.

Tips:

  • If you like extra crispy skin, you can add a bit more oil or even a light sprinkle of garlic powder or other seasonings before cooking.
  • For an extra creamy inside, consider microwaving the potatoes for 5 minutes before air frying to help them cook evenly.
