Air Fryer Breaded Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of chicken wings
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust to your preferred level of spiciness)
  • 2 eggs
  • Cooking spray or a small amount of oil (for the air fryer basket)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and all the dry seasonings: salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs.
  4. Dip each chicken wing into the whisked eggs, ensuring it’s well coated.
  5. Roll the egg-coated chicken wing in the seasoned flour mixture, making sure it’s evenly coated. Press the breading onto the chicken to make it adhere.
  6. Place the breaded chicken wings on a plate or tray.
  7. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or a small amount of oil. This prevents the chicken wings from sticking and helps them become even crispier.
  8. Arrange the breaded chicken wings in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket. Be sure not to overcrowd the basket; you may need to cook them in batches.
  9. Air fry the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. Cooking times may vary depending on the size of your wings and the specific air fryer model, so keep an eye on them.
  10. The wings are done when they are golden brown and have an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C).
  11. Once the wings are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.
  12. Serve the air fryer breaded chicken wings with your favorite dipping sauces, such as buffalo sauce, ranch, or blue cheese dressing.
