Ingredients
Filling
1 lb (450g) lean ground beef (90–93% lean)
½ small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ cup (120g) low-fat cottage cheese (blend smooth)
¾ cup (75g) reduced-fat shredded cheddar or mozzarella
Pastry
1 sheet light puff pastry, thawed
1 egg (for egg wash)
🔹 Instructions
Cook beef
Brown ground beef with onion and garlic over medium heat.
Drain excess grease.
Stir in seasonings. Let cool slightly.
Boost protein + creaminess
Mix blended cottage cheese into the beef mixture.
Fold in shredded cheese.
Prepare pastry
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll puff pastry slightly and cut into 6 equal rectangles.
Fill & seal
Spoon beef mixture onto one half of each piece.
Fold over and press edges with a fork to seal.
Egg wash
Brush tops with beaten egg.
Bake
18–22 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
