Stuffed peppers in an air fryer

Things you need

Three to four bell peppers of any color

1 cup of cooked rice (brown or white)

½ pound of ground beef, turkey, or sausage

1/2 small onion, chopped very finely

1 clove of garlic, chopped

½ cup of tomato sauce or marinara sauce

1 tsp of Italian spices

Add salt and pepper to taste.

¾ to 1 cup of shredded cheese, such as mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix

A little oil or olive oil spray

How to do it

Get the peppers ready

Take the seeds and membranes out of the peppers and cut off the tops. Set aside the outside after lightly brushing or spraying it with oil.

Prepare the filling

Cook the ground meat and onion in a skillet over medium heat until the meat is browned. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Add the cooked rice, marinara, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Taste it and add more spices if you want.

Put things in them

Gently pack the filling into each pepper with a spoon. Put a lot of shredded cheese on top of each one.

Fry in the air

Put the stuffed peppers in the air fryer basket so that they are standing up.

At 360°F (180°C), air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the peppers are soft.

Let it rest and serve

They are hot, so let them sit for a few minutes before serving them as they are or with a salad.

Advice

If you like peppers that are softer, air fry the empty ones for 3 to 4 minutes before filling them.

You can use quinoa or cauliflower rice instead of rice if you want.

If you like things spicy, add red pepper flakes.
