Homemade Cheddar Cheese Rolls

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cold butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 1 egg

Optional Topping

  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Extra shredded cheddar

Instructions


🥣 Step 1: Make the Dough

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add cold butter cubes and rub in with fingers until mixture looks crumbly.
  3. Stir in shredded cheddar.
  4. Mix in Greek yogurt and egg until a dough forms.

If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour (1 tbsp at a time).


🥯 Step 2: Shape the Rolls

  1. Divide dough into 8 equal pieces.
  2. Roll each into a ball and flatten slightly.

🔥 Step 3: Air Fry

  1. Preheat air fryer to 180°C / 350°F.
  2. Place rolls in the basket with space between them.
  3. Cook for 10–12 minutes, until golden brown.

🧈 Step 4: Finish (Optional)

  1. Brush with melted butter.
  2. Sprinkle extra cheddar on top.
  3. Air fry 1 more minute to melt the cheese.

🧡 Tips for Perfect Rolls

  • Use cold butter for flakier texture.
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket.
  • Serve warm for maximum cheesy goodness.
