Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (if needed)
- ½ green bell pepper, finely diced
- ½ onion, finely diced (keep small for carbs)
- 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped (bulk + fiber, low carb)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup beef broth (low sodium)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (no sugar added)
- 1 tsp steak seasoning (or salt + pepper)
- ½ tsp paprika
- 4–6 slices provolone cheese (or shredded provolone)
- Optional: splash of heavy cream (1–2 tbsp for richness)
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add peppers, onion, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until soft (5–7 min).
- Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire, seasoning, and paprika.
- Simmer 5–10 minutes until thick and sloppy (but not soupy).
- Lay provolone on top, cover, and let melt.
