🥩 Pepper Parmesan Prime Rib (Air Fryer)
Ingredients
- 1 prime rib roast (4–5 lbs, boneless preferred)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1–2 tbsp fresh herbs, chopped (optional: rosemary, thyme, parsley)
Preparation
1. Bring to Room Temperature
- Remove prime rib from refrigerator 1–1½ hours before cooking.
- Pat completely dry with paper towels.
2. Make the Rub
In a small bowl, mix:
- Olive oil
- Black pepper
- Parmesan cheese
- Minced garlic
- Salt
- Fresh herbs (if using)
3. Season the Roast
- Rub mixture evenly over all sides of the prime rib.
- Press seasoning firmly to form a crust.
Air Fryer Cooking
1. Preheat
- Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
2. Initial Sear
- Place prime rib fat-side up in the basket or rack.
- Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 15 minutes to create a crust.
3. Low & Slow Finish
- Reduce temperature to 320°F (160°C).
- Continue cooking for 45–60 minutes, depending on doneness.
Internal Temperature Guide
(Use a meat thermometer for accuracy)
Rare: 120–125°F (49–52°C)
Medium-rare: 130–135°F (54–57°C)
Medium: 140–145°F (60–63°C)
👉 Remove roast 5–7°F below target (it will rise while resting).
Resting (Very Important)
Tent loosely with foil.
Rest 20–30 minutes before slicing.
Slice against the grain.
