🥐 Cream Cheese Spinach Puffs Recipe
🧾 Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 cup frozen spinach (thawed and well-drained)
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: pinch of nutmeg or red pepper flakes for extra flavor
🔪 Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare Filling:
- In a bowl, mix the spinach, cream cheese, Parmesan, mozzarella, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning (add nutmeg or red pepper flakes if desired).
- Prepare Puff Pastry:
- Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
- Cut into 9 equal squares (3×3 grid).
- Fill & Fold:
- Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each square.
- Fold corners into the center like a pinwheel or fold into triangles and seal edges with a fork.
- Egg Wash:
- Beat the egg with a little water and brush over the tops of the puffs for a golden finish.
- Bake:
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool & Serve:
- Let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
🍴 Tips:
- Make sure the spinach is very well-drained to avoid soggy puffs.
- You can prep them ahead and freeze before baking—just add a few extra minutes to the bake time if baking from frozen.
