🥐 Cream Cheese Spinach Puffs Recipe

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 cup frozen spinach (thawed and well-drained)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg or red pepper flakes for extra flavor

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Filling:
    • In a bowl, mix the spinach, cream cheese, Parmesan, mozzarella, garlic, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning (add nutmeg or red pepper flakes if desired).
  3. Prepare Puff Pastry:
    • Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
    • Cut into 9 equal squares (3×3 grid).
  4. Fill & Fold:
    • Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each square.
    • Fold corners into the center like a pinwheel or fold into triangles and seal edges with a fork.
  5. Egg Wash:
    • Beat the egg with a little water and brush over the tops of the puffs for a golden finish.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Cool & Serve:
    • Let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

🍴 Tips:

  • Make sure the spinach is very well-drained to avoid soggy puffs.
  • You can prep them ahead and freeze before baking—just add a few extra minutes to the bake time if baking from frozen.
