🍄🧀 Cheesy Mushroom Beef Skillet
🍽️ Serves: 4
⏱️ Total Time: ~30 minutes
🔥 One-pan meal — minimal cleanup!
📦 Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80–90% lean)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (if needed)
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (cremini or white button)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional, for depth)
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- ½ cup beef broth or stock
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or provolone work great)
- Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
👨🍳 Instructions:
1. Brown the Beef
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbled.
- Drain excess fat if needed and set beef aside.
2. Sauté Mushrooms & Onion
- In the same skillet, add a bit of oil if the pan is dry.
- Add mushrooms and onions. Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms release moisture and start to brown.
- Add garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and Dijon mustard. Cook for 1 more minute.
3. Deglaze & Simmer
- Pour in the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Stir and scrape up any bits from the bottom.
- Add the cooked beef back to the pan.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the cream cheese until melted and combined.
4. Add the Cheese
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit on low for 2–3 minutes, until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.
