Southern Baked Beans
Ingredients
- – 2 14.5 oz. cans pork and beans
- – 1 medium onion diced
- – ½ cup light brown sugar
- – 1 cup ketchup
- – 8 slices bacon diced
- – 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 300℉.2. Fry bacon in a Dutch oven until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels.3. Sauté onions in bacon grease until translucent.4. Add beans, brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard to the onions. Crumble bacon into the mixture and stir.5. Bake uncovered for 60 minutes, stirring halfway through. Serve warm.
Notes
– Use dark brown sugar for a richer flavor.- Add vegetables like bell peppers for extra texture.
