Please STOP boiling potatoes in WATER

Ingredients
- 1 large head of cauliflower (or 2 medium turnips), cut into florets/chunks
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Steam instead of boil:
- Place cauliflower (or turnips) in a steamer basket over boiling water.
- Cover and steam until fork-tender — about 7–10 minutes for cauliflower or 15 minutes for turnips.
- Steaming keeps flavor in the veg instead of washing it away.
- Season & mash:
- Transfer to a bowl, add olive oil or butter, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and heavy cream if using.
- Mash with a potato masher or blend for a smoother texture.
- Serve hot:
- Garnish with fresh herbs and maybe a sprinkle of parmesan for a “gourmet” touch.
✅ Pro Tip: Roasting your cauliflower or turnips after steaming gives an extra layer of flavor and makes them taste even more like real potatoes.
