- 1 large thumb of fresh ginger (about 2โ3 inches), peeled and sliced thin
- 4 cups filtered water
- Optional additions:
- 1โ2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp maple syrup or agave (or more to taste)
- A few mint leaves or a pinch of cayenne (for a kick)
๐ฅฃ Instructions
- Boil:
In a small saucepan, bring the water and ginger slices to a boil. - Simmer:
Reduce heat and let simmer gently for 10โ15 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. - Strain:
Remove from heat and strain out the ginger slices. - Flavor (optional):
Stir in lemon juice and sweetener, if using. Let cool slightly if drinking warm, or chill in the fridge to serve cold. - Serve:
Enjoy warm, at room temperature, or iced.
