๐Ÿงพ Ingredients

  • 1 large thumb of fresh ginger (about 2โ€“3 inches), peeled and sliced thin
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • Optional additions:
    • 1โ€“2 tsp lemon juice
    • 1 tsp maple syrup or agave (or more to taste)
    • A few mint leaves or a pinch of cayenne (for a kick)

๐Ÿฅฃ Instructions

  1. Boil:
    In a small saucepan, bring the water and ginger slices to a boil.
  2. Simmer:
    Reduce heat and let simmer gently for 10โ€“15 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.
  3. Strain:
    Remove from heat and strain out the ginger slices.
  4. Flavor (optional):
    Stir in lemon juice and sweetener, if using. Let cool slightly if drinking warm, or chill in the fridge to serve cold.
  5. Serve:
    Enjoy warm, at room temperature, or iced.
