Spicy Roasted Chickpeas

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
  • ½ tsp cumin (optional, for extra warmth)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat dry the chickpeas using a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This helps them crisp up.
  3. Toss the chickpeas with olive oil and all the spices in a bowl until evenly coated.
  4. Spread them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  5. Roast for 25-30 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
  6. Cool slightly before serving. They will crisp up more as they cool.

Air Fryer Method:

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Air fry chickpeas for 12-15 minutes, shaking halfway through.
