Philly Cheese Steak Casserole Recipe

Ingredients (Makes 6 servings)

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (or ground turkey for fewer points)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 oz reduced-fat cream cheese
  • ½ cup low-fat shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded reduced-fat provolone cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or skim milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a casserole dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, eggs, and almond milk until smooth.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the beef and veggies, stirring to combine.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the casserole dish. Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is set.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
