1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to heat preference)
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Salmon and Shrimp:
2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 lemon, sliced
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Cajun Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Season the Salmon and Shrimp: Rub both the salmon fillets and shrimp with olive oil. Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning generously over both, making sure they’re evenly coated.
Cook the Salmon:
Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the salmon is cooked through and has a crispy crust. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté Lemon Slices: In the same skillet, add a little more butter if necessary and toss in the lemon slices. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until slightly caramelized.
Assemble: Serve the salmon fillets on a plate, top with shrimp, and garnish with sautéed lemon slices and fresh parsley.
