Keto Sausage Cheese Scones
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 ounces cooked sausage, crumbled (ensure it’s low carb)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Add cheese and sausage: Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled sausage into the dry ingredients until well combined.
- Form dough: In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, and melted butter. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms. It should be slightly sticky but manageable.
- Shape scones: Turn the dough out onto a parchment-lined surface. Pat it into a circle about 1-inch thick. Cut the circle into 8 wedges.
- Bake: Transfer the wedges onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Allow the scones to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
