Air Fryer Ultramel Scones
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup Ultramel custard (or any other custard of your choice)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Milk (for brushing)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for a few minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the Ultramel custard, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix; just mix until all the ingredients come together.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times to ensure it’s well combined.
- Roll or pat the dough to about 1-inch (2.5 cm) thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out scones. Dip the cutter or glass into flour to prevent sticking.
- Place the scones in the preheated air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one.
- Brush the tops of the scones with a bit of milk to help them brown nicely.
- Air fry the scones at 350°F (180°C) for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer, so keep an eye on them.
- Once done, carefully remove the scones from the air fryer and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Dust the scones with powdered sugar before serving….
