2-4 tablespoons non-dairy milk (such as almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk)
Instructions:
Cream the Vegan Butter:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened vegan butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
Add Vanilla Extract:
Add the vanilla extract to the creamed butter and mix until well combined.
Add Powdered Sugar:
Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed to avoid a sugar cloud. After each addition, mix on medium speed until the sugar is fully incorporated.
Adjust Consistency:
Once all the powdered sugar is added, the frosting will be quite thick. Add the non-dairy milk, one tablespoon at a time, and continue mixing on medium speed until you reach your desired consistency. The frosting should be smooth, creamy, and easy to spread or pipe.
Beat for Fluffiness:
After reaching the desired consistency, beat the frosting on high speed for an additional 2-3 minutes to make it light and fluffy.
Optional Add-ins:
If you want to add color or additional flavorings (like almond extract, lemon zest, or cocoa powder), do so at this stage and mix until well combined.
Tips:
Ensure your vegan butter is softened but not melted for the best consistency.
Sifting the powdered sugar helps to prevent lumps in your frosting.
If the frosting becomes too thick, add more non-dairy milk a teaspoon at a time. If itβs too thin, add more powdered sugar.
