Keto Pepperoni Pizza Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage (or ground beef)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free, low-carb)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the Ground Sausage:
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Assemble the Casserole:
    • Spread the cooked sausage evenly on the bottom of the greased baking dish.
    • Pour the marinara sauce over the sausage, spreading it out evenly.
    • Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the sauce.
    • Arrange the pepperoni slices, black olives, and sliced mushrooms (if using) over the cheese layer.
    • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the top.
  4. Bake:
    • Cover the casserole with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
