Homemade Garlic Toast Sloppy Joes
Sloppy Joe sandwiches are a meal staple in so many of our kitchens because they’re so simple, tasty, and filling. These are the same reasons we really enjoy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes. I can whip up these open-faced sandwiches in 20 minutes and have dinner on the table before everyone runs their different directions for the evening.
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
2 cups spaghetti sauce more or less, depending on your preference
8 slices frozen garlic toast
1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
Fresh parsley chopped
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to the cooking temperature specified on the box of garlic toast.
2. In a skillet, crumble the ground beef and cook over medium-high heat until it’s fully browned. Drain off the excess fat, then add the spaghetti sauce to the cooked beef. Let the meat sauce simmer for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. While the meat sauce is simmering, bake the frozen garlic toast according to the package directions until it’s golden brown on both sides.
4. Once the garlic toast is ready, spoon the meat sauce on top of each slice, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
5. Place the prepared garlic toast back into the oven for a few minutes, just until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
6. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve the open-face garlic toast sloppy joes while they’re hot and delicious.
