GOAT MEAT PEPPER SOUP

This goat meat pepper soup is a favorite Nigerian soup that is so nutritious and filling. It’s heartwarming, ethnic flavors will cheer you up and soothe your soul!

Ingredients

  • ▢2 lbs goat meat
  • ▢½ onion
  • ▢10 cups water
  • ▢1 tablespoon salt
  • ▢1 teaspoon thyme
  • ▢1 teaspoon bouillon
  • ▢2 tablespoon pepper soup spice
  • ▢1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ▢1 tablespoon ground crayfish

Instructions

  • Cut the onions and set aside.
  • Wash goat meat under running water and place it in a pot.

Make it on the stovetop.

  • Add 6 cups of water to the pot.
  • Add the chopped onions, thyme, bouillon, and salt.
  • Boil till tender (45 minutes to 1 hour).
  • Add 4 more cups of water.
  • Add pepper soup spice, cayenne pepper, and crayfish.
  • Taste for salt and add more if needed.
  • Simmer for 20 minutes on medium heat.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Make it in an instant pot.

  • Place all the ingredients in your instant pot and add 8 cups of water.
  • Set your instant pot to High Pressure for 40 minutes.
  • Let the pressure naturally release when it’s ready.
