Reuben Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- ½ cup Thousand Island dressing
- 8 slices Rye bread
- 8 slices Swiss Cheese
- 1 cup sauerkraut, drained well
- 8 ounces Corned Beef, sliced thin from the deli
Instructions
FIRST STEP:
Using a large griddle, heat to medium high heat
Butter one side of each slice of bread
Place 4 slices of the buttered Rye bread, butter side down on the hot griddle
Spread some of the Thousand Island dressing on the sides of bread facing up on the griddle
Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each slice of the bread on top of the Thousand Island Dressing
Place 2 ounces of meat on top of the slice of Swiss Cheese
Place ¼ cup of Sauerkraut on top of the corned beef
Place another slice of Swiss Cheese on top of the Sauerkraut
SECOND STEP:
Spread Dressing on one side of each of the remaining slices of bread
Place the slices dressing side down on top of the cheese
THIRD STEP:
Carefully spread butter on the top side of the bread
Carefully flip the sandwich to toast the other side
Serve with a pickle and chips
