Peanut Butter Skinny Chocolate Shake with a Dairy-Free option

I love chocolate.  And peanut butter.  And chocolate and peanut butter combined.  It will come as no surprise, then, that my all-time favorite variation of a Trim Healthy Mama compatible shake contains chocolate and peanut butter.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4-1 cup water or almond milk *
  • dash of salt
  • dash of vanilla
  • 1/2-1 scoop whey protein powder or 1-2 scoops collagen**
  • 2 Tbsp. defatted peanut flour OR 1-2 Tbsp. natural peanut butter ***
  • sweetener to taste
  • 8-12 ice cubes*
  • 1/4-1/3 recipe frozen skinny chocolate

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients except skinny chocolate to blender.  Blend well, stirring as needed to break up ice chunks.
2. Add skinny chocolate to blender, and blend to break into chunks.
3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

* You can use more or less water and ice to make a smaller or larger amount of shake.
** Use 1/2 a scoop protein powder for a snack, and one whole scoop for a meal and 1 scoop collagen for a snack and up to 2 (20ish grams of protein worth) for a meal.
*** Using defatted peanut flour allows this to work for a Deep S shake.  Using peanut butter makes this a solid S (and heavier on the calorie/fat scale).
