Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (adds flavor and helps bind the patties)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried parsley)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (for cooking)

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions (for added flavor and texture)
  • 1/4 cup chopped mushrooms (sautéed, for a mushroom flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
    • If you’re using optional add-ins like onions or mushrooms, fold them into the mixture.
  2. Shape the Patties:
    • Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 equal portions, depending on your preferred patty size.
    • Gently shape each portion into a patty, making them slightly larger than the size of your burger buns as they will shrink a bit while cooking.
    • Use your thumb to make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly and maintain its shape.
  3. Cook the Patties:
    • Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (e.g., medium-rare, medium, well-done). Cooking times may vary depending on patty thickness.
    • If you’re using a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should be about 160°F (71°C) for medium.
  4. Serve:
    • Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
    • Serve on a keto-friendly bun, lettuce wrap, or simply enjoy them with your favorite low-carb toppings.

Tips:

  • Seasoning Variations: Feel free to adjust the seasoning to suit your taste. You can add spices like cumin, chili powder, or even some hot sauce for extra kick.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the patties ahead of time and freeze them. Just place them on a baking sheet to freeze individually, then transfer them to a freezer bag for storage. Cook from frozen, adding a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time.
