Homemade Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (or garlic paste)
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the cheese mixture
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until the cheeses are fully melted and combined into a smooth mixture.
- Mix the dough
- Add the almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and egg to the melted cheese mixture.
- Stir until a dough forms. You can use your hands if needed to fully combine the ingredients.
- Shape the dough
- Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet. Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten it into a rectangular shape about 1/4-inch thick.
- Prepare the garlic butter topping
- Mix the melted butter with minced garlic. Brush this mixture generously over the dough.
- Bake the breadsticks
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Add the cheesy topping
- Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top of the baked dough. Return to the oven for another 3–5 minutes until the cheese melts and the top is golden.
- Garnish and serve
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Let the breadsticks cool slightly, then slice into sticks or squares.
