Homemade Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic (or garlic paste)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the cheese mixture
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until the cheeses are fully melted and combined into a smooth mixture.
  2. Mix the dough
    • Add the almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and egg to the melted cheese mixture.
    • Stir until a dough forms. You can use your hands if needed to fully combine the ingredients.
  3. Shape the dough
    • Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet. Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten it into a rectangular shape about 1/4-inch thick.
  4. Prepare the garlic butter topping
    • Mix the melted butter with minced garlic. Brush this mixture generously over the dough.
  5. Bake the breadsticks
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Add the cheesy topping
    • Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top of the baked dough. Return to the oven for another 3–5 minutes until the cheese melts and the top is golden.
  7. Garnish and serve
    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Let the breadsticks cool slightly, then slice into sticks or squares.
