I want to express my gratitude to the kind soul who shared the garlic soup idea and encouraged everyone to be kind. I find myself under the weather and in need of comfort, but traditional chicken noodle soup is out of the question due to my low-carb preference. Drawing inspiration from the garlic soup concept, I concocted a delightful variation with chicken, mushrooms, and cabbage. Let me share the high-level recipe:

  1. Begin by roasting a generous amount of garlic and then adding it to a pot.
  2. Chop an onion and toss it into the same pot.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms, chopped raw chicken, and a bag of shredded cabbage.
  4. Introduce a substantial pat of butter and stir-fry the ingredients until the chicken is cooked and the vegetables are tender.
  5. Once everything is sizzling, incorporate lemon juice, chicken stock or base, water, salt, pepper, parsley, and thyme.
  6. Allow the mixture to boil for approximately 15 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.
  7. Turn off the heat and exercise patience, resisting the temptation to burn your tongue as you eagerly await the soup to cool down.
