Cut the baguette or Italian bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, oregano, and parsley.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
Cook the Steak and Vegetables:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the steak is browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms (if using). Cook until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Assemble the Garlic Bread:
Evenly distribute the cooked steak over the garlic-buttered bread.
Top the steak with the cooked vegetables.
Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese (or your preferred cheese blend) over the steak and vegetables.
Bake:
Place the assembled bread in the preheated oven.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden and crispy.
Serve:
Remove the garlic bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute.
