EASY FRITTATA RECIPE

Ingredients:
- 8 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk (whole milk, heavy cream, or a dairy-free alternative)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
- 1 cup spinach or other leafy greens (optional)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, feta, or a mix)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional add-ins: cooked bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, herbs (e.g., parsley, basil)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Veggies:
- Heat the olive oil or butter in an oven-safe skillet (cast-iron or a nonstick skillet works well) over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and bell pepper (if using), and sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened.
- If you’re using spinach or other leafy greens, add them in during the last minute of sautéing and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. Whisk the Eggs:
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. Combine the Ingredients:
- Add the sautéed vegetables (and any optional add-ins like cooked bacon, sausage, or cheese) to the skillet with the veggies. Spread them out evenly.
- Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables in the skillet, making sure everything is evenly covered.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.
5. Cook the Frittata:
- Let the frittata cook on the stovetop for about 2-3 minutes on low heat, just to set the edges.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the frittata is fully set and lightly browned on top.
- You can check doneness by inserting a knife or toothpick in the center—it should come out clean.
6. Serve:
- Let the frittata cool for a couple of minutes before slicing into wedges. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Tips & Variations:
- Meat Options: Add cooked bacon, sausage, or ham for a heartier frittata.
- Veggies: Feel free to add mushrooms, zucchini, tomatoes, or roasted veggies to your frittata for more flavor and variety.
- Herbs: Fresh herbs like basil, parsley, thyme, or chives can be mixed into the egg mixture for extra flavor.
- Dairy-Free: Use a dairy-free milk alternative and omit the cheese or use dairy-free cheese to make the frittata dairy-free.
