Delicious spanakopita

Savor the delightful flavors of Easy Spanakopita, a classic Greek spinach pie that’s surprisingly easy to make. This dish brings a taste of Greece right to your kitchen!


  • 1 egg
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) milk
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Spinach and feta cheese mixture (seasoned with salt and pepper)
  • 3 rolls of filo dough
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Poppy seeds (optional)


  • Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together 1 egg with milk, vegetable oil, water, and salt.
  • Layer Filo Dough: Place a sheet of filo dough on a flat surface. Lightly brush it with the egg mixture. Repeat for a total of three layers.
  • Prepare Filling: Combine feta cheese with cooked spinach, seasoned with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Assemble: Spread the spinach and feta mixture over the layered filo. Roll the dough from one end to create a long strip.
  • Cut and Arrange: Cut the roll into triangle shapes and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Brush with Egg Yolk: Coat each triangle with egg yolk for a golden appearance.
  • Add Seeds: Optionally, sprinkle poppy seeds on top for extra crunch.
  • Bake: Cook in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
