Creamy garlic mushrooms and bacon recipe
Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
- Cook the Mushrooms: In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the butter. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the mushrooms are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the mushrooms. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked bacon to the skillet with the mushrooms and garlic. Stir to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- Add Cream: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and stir to combine with the mushrooms, bacon, and garlic. Allow the cream to simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Season: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that the bacon adds saltiness, so be cautious with the salt.
- Garnish and Serve: Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor. Serve hot and enjoy!
