Creamy garlic mushrooms and bacon recipe

  • 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  1. Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
  2. Cook the Mushrooms: In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the butter. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the mushrooms are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the mushrooms. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked bacon to the skillet with the mushrooms and garlic. Stir to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  5. Add Cream: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and stir to combine with the mushrooms, bacon, and garlic. Allow the cream to simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Season: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that the bacon adds saltiness, so be cautious with the salt.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor. Serve hot and enjoy!

This dish pairs well with crusty bread, rice, pasta, or even mashed potatoes. It’s creamy, savory, and packed with delicious flavors!
