Cheesy Spaghetti
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the Spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Combine the Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss well until the spaghetti is evenly coated with the sauce.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the spaghetti and sauce mixture. Stir gently until the cheese is melted and evenly distributed.
- Serve: Transfer the cheesy spaghetti to serving plates or a large platter. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top for an extra cheesy kick. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
