CAJUN CORN ON THE COB

CAJUN CORN ON THE COB

WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT CAJUN CORN ON THE COB
Cajun Corn on the Cob is special because it combines the classic sweetness and texture of corn on the cob with bold and spicy Cajun flavors. The Cajun seasoning used in this dish typically includes a blend of spices such as paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. These spices add a unique smokiness and heat to the dish that sets it apart from traditional corn on the cob. Additionally, Cajun cuisine originates from the southern state of Louisiana, United States, and the blending of different cultures such as French, African, and indigenous influences, so this recipe also brings a cultural element to the traditional corn on the cob.

This recipe is easy to prepare and can be grilled, boiled, or oven-roasted, making it versatile and suitable for any occasion. It is a perfect side dish for any meal, especially during the summer months, or as a unique addition to any barbecue or outdoor gathering. The option of adding lime wedges at the end makes it even more flavorful.

Ingredients:
4 ears of corn, husked
2 tsp Cajun seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
Lime wedges (optional)

Brush the mixture onto the corn, making sure to coat it evenly.
Place the corn on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, occasionally turning, until the corn is tender and slightly charred.
Serve with lime wedges, if desired.
Note that you can also cook the corn on the stovetop by boiling them in water for 8-10 minutes or grilling them in the oven at 375-400F for 20-25 minutes.
