Baked Chicken Parmesan!


  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray


  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the chicken:
    • Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
    • Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Bread the chicken:
    • Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess.
    • Dip it in the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
    • Press it into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it is fully coated. Place the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the chicken:
    • Lightly spray the tops of the chicken breasts with olive oil spray or cooking spray. This will help them achieve a golden, crispy crust.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown.
  5. Add marinara and cheese:
    • Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Spoon marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast.
    • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the marinara sauce.
  6. Bake again:
    • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve the Baked Chicken Parmesan hot with pasta, a side salad, or garlic bread.
