Bacon & cheese puff pastry swirls 🤤

Ingredients:-

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions:-

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Cook the bacon until crispy, then chop it into small pieces.
    • Shred the cheddar cheese, grate the Parmesan cheese, and chop the green onions if using.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
    • Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Assemble the Swirls:
    • Brush the surface of the puff pastry with the beaten egg.
    • Sprinkle the chopped bacon evenly over the pastry sheet.
    • Spread the shredded cheddar cheese over the bacon.
    • Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the cheese.
  4. Roll and Cut:
    • Starting from one of the shorter ends, tightly roll up the puff pastry sheet like a jelly roll.
    • Once rolled up, gently press the edge to seal.
    • Using a sharp knife, cut the roll into 1/2-inch slices. You should get about 10-12 slices.
  5. Bake:
    • Place the slices, cut-side up, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
    • Brush the tops of each swirl with the remaining beaten egg.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
