Air Fryer Wings w/ Homemade Buffalo sauce recipe
Ingredients:
For the Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split at the joint, tips removed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Buffalo Sauce:
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt, to taste
Instructions:
Preparing the Wings:
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Cooking the Wings:
- Place the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they’re not overcrowded. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Cook the wings for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until they’re golden brown and crispy.
Making the Buffalo Sauce:
- While the wings are cooking, in a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Once the butter is melted, add the hot sauce, honey (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Tossing the Wings:
- Once the wings are done cooking, transfer them to a large bowl.
- Pour the Buffalo sauce over the wings and toss until they’re evenly coated.
Serving:
- Serve the wings hot with your favorite dipping sauce, celery sticks, and carrot sticks.
