Air Fryer Poached Eggs
Ingredients:
- Eggs (as many as you want to poach)
- Cooking spray or oil (optional, for greasing)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C). This temperature is gentle enough to cook the eggs without overcooking them too quickly.
- Prepare the Eggs:
- Crack each egg into a small bowl or ramekin. This helps prevent shell pieces from getting into the air fryer and allows you to easily slide the eggs into the air fryer basket.
- Air Fry the Eggs:
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking (optional).
- Carefully slide each egg into the air fryer basket, making sure they are spaced apart.
- Cooking Time:
- Cook the eggs in the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for about 6-8 minutes, depending on how runny or firm you like your yolks and the size of your eggs. Keep an eye on them towards the end to avoid overcooking.
- Check for Doneness:
- Carefully remove the eggs from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula. The whites should be set, and the yolks should be soft but not overly runny. If you prefer firmer yolks, you can cook them for an additional minute or two.
- Serve:
- Serve the poached eggs immediately while they’re warm. You can season them with salt and pepper or enjoy them with toast, avocado, or any other accompaniments you like.
Tips:
- Egg Size: The cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of your eggs. Larger eggs may need a bit more time.
- Greasing the Basket: Greasing the air fryer basket helps prevent the eggs from sticking, but you can skip this step if your air fryer has a non-stick coating.
- Experiment: Feel free to experiment with the cooking time to achieve your desired level of doneness for the eggs.
