Air Fryer Crispy Chilli Beef

Ingredients:

  • 400g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1-2 red chili peppers, thinly sliced (adjust to taste)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well until the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for about 15-30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Cook the Beef:
    • Once the air fryer is preheated, lightly grease the air fryer basket with vegetable oil. Place the marinated beef slices in a single layer in the basket, making sure they’re not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
    • Cook the beef in the air fryer for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until it’s crispy and golden brown.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:
    • While the beef is cooking, heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced bell pepper, chopped green onions, and sliced red chili peppers. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
    • Add any remaining marinade from the beef into the skillet and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Combine Beef and Sauce:
    • Once the beef is crispy and cooked, transfer it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together until the beef is well coated with the sauce.
  6. Serve:
    • Transfer the Air Fryer Crispy Chilli Beef to a serving plate and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
