Air fryer crispy chilli beef
Ingredients:
- 500g beef steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2-3 red chili peppers, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for the sauce)
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions:
- Marinate the beef:
- In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Prepare the sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix together the honey, rice vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Set aside.
- Preheat the air fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the beef:
- Once preheated, place the marinated beef slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the beef is crispy and golden brown.
- Make the chili beef sauce:
- While the beef is cooking, heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic, minced ginger, sliced red chili peppers, and sliced bell pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the peppers are slightly softened.
- Add the prepared sauce mixture to the pan and bring it to a simmer.
- Once simmering, add the cornstarch-water mixture to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
- Combine beef and sauce:
- Once the beef is cooked and crispy, transfer it to a large bowl. Pour the prepared chili beef sauce over the crispy beef and toss until well coated.
- Serve:
- Serve the crispy chili beef over cooked rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
