1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for the sauce)
Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Cooked rice for serving
Instructions:
Marinate the beef:
In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Prepare the sauce:
In a small bowl, mix together the honey, rice vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Set aside.
Preheat the air fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Cook the beef:
Once preheated, place the marinated beef slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the beef is crispy and golden brown.
Make the chili beef sauce:
While the beef is cooking, heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic, minced ginger, sliced red chili peppers, and sliced bell pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the peppers are slightly softened.
Add the prepared sauce mixture to the pan and bring it to a simmer.
Once simmering, add the cornstarch-water mixture to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
Combine beef and sauce:
Once the beef is cooked and crispy, transfer it to a large bowl. Pour the prepared chili beef sauce over the crispy beef and toss until well coated.
Serve:
Serve the crispy chili beef over cooked rice.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
