Air fryer Chicken Thighs

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help them become crispy in the air fryer.
  3. Season the Chicken: In a bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and any optional herbs or spices you like. Rub this mixture all over the chicken thighs, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
  4. Air Fry the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, skin-side up. Make sure they are not touching. If your air fryer is small, you might need to cook them in batches.
  5. Cook: Air fry the chicken thighs at 380°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes. You’ll want to flip the thighs halfway through the cooking time, at around 15 minutes, to ensure even crisping.
  6. Check Doneness: The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy. Cooking times may vary slightly depending on the size of your chicken thighs and the specific model of your air fryer.
  7. Rest and Serve: Once done, remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps the juices redistribute, making the chicken juicier.
  8. Serve: Serve your air fryer chicken thighs with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, a salad, or mashed potatoes..
