Air Fryer Cauliflower Steaks Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large head of cauliflower
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: ½ teaspoon chili flakes
- Optional: 2 cup grated Parmesan cheese or seasoned breadcrumbs
- Optional: Fresh parsley, chopped
Instruction
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Cauliflower: Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower, leaving the core intact. Slice the cauliflower into 1-inch thick steaks. You should be able to get 3-4 steaks from one head of cauliflower.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil/butter, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, and all the dried herbs and seasonings.
- Marinate the Cauliflower: Brush the cauliflower steaks generously with the prepared marinade, ensuring each steak is well coated on both sides.
- (Optional) Create the Parmesan/breadcrumb Crust: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the cauliflower steaks, pressing it gently on both sides to adhere.
- Air Fry the Cauliflower: Place the cauliflower steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping the steaks halfway through, or until the cauliflower is tender and the Parmesan crust is golden and crispy.
- Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, transfer the cauliflower steaks to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining marinade over the top and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the cauliflower steaks as a delicious and unique side dish. The balsamic glaze adds a sweet and tangy flavor, while the Parmesan crust provides a satisfying crunch.
