Air Fryer Breaded Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
- Prep the Chicken Wings:
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps the breading stick better.
- Set Up the Breading Stations:
- In a shallow dish, add the flour.
- In another shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and water.
- In a third shallow dish, mix the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Bread the Chicken Wings:
- Dredge each chicken wing in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured wing into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Finally, coat the wing in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken Wings:
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Place the breaded chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; you may need to cook in batches.
- Lightly spray the tops of the wings with cooking spray.
- Air Fry the Wings:
- Cook the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces and sides.
Tips:
- For extra crispiness, you can double-bread the wings by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps.
- Adjust the seasoning in the breadcrumb mixture to your taste. Add some cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
- Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing for a classic wing experience.
