Air Fryer Baked Potato covered with a parsley garlic salt rub

Ingredients:

  • 1 large russet potato
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt (adjust to taste)
  • Cooking spray (optional)
  • Sour cream, chives, or your favorite toppings for serving

Instructions:

  1. Wash and scrub the potato thoroughly to remove any dirt. Pat it dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, dried parsley, and garlic salt. Adjust the garlic salt to your taste; you can use less if you prefer less salt.
  3. Pierce the potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during cooking. This prevents the potato from bursting.
  4. Rub the potato with olive oil. You can do this by pouring a little olive oil in your hands and rubbing it all over the potato’s skin, or you can use a pastry brush for more even coverage.
  5. After you’ve coated the potato with olive oil, sprinkle the parsley garlic salt mixture evenly over the entire potato. Make sure to press the mixture onto the potato’s surface so it adheres.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  7. If your air fryer basket tends to stick, you can lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent the potato from sticking during cooking.
  8. Place the seasoned potato in the preheated air fryer basket.
  9. Cook the potato in the air fryer for about 40-50 minutes, depending on its size and the air fryer’s power. Make sure to flip the potato halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crispiness.
  10. Check for doneness by inserting a fork or knife into the potato. If it goes in easily, the potato is done. If not, continue cooking for a few more minutes.
  11. Once the potato is cooked to your liking and has a crispy exterior, remove it from the air fryer.
  12. Let the potato cool for a few minutes, as it will be very hot.
  13. Serve your air-fried baked potato with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, chives, or any other condiments you prefer.
