Air fryer Asparagus and Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce


  • For the Asparagus:
    • 1 lb (450g) fresh asparagus, trimmed
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish


  1. Prepare the Asparagus:
    • Wash and trim the asparagus. Dry them thoroughly with a paper towel.
    • In a bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Air Fry the Asparagus:
    • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
    • Place the asparagus in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You might need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
    • Cook for 7-9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the asparagus are tender and slightly crispy on the edges.
  3. Prepare the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • While the asparagus is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden.
    • Stir in the lemon juice and zest, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Once the asparagus is done, transfer it to a serving platter.
    • Drizzle the lemon garlic butter sauce over the asparagus.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!


  • Cooking Time: Adjust the cooking time in the air fryer based on the thickness of your asparagus. Thinner stalks may need less time, while thicker ones may need a bit more.
  • Variations: Add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top before serving for an extra flavor boost.
